Retreating to an enchanted garden in North Canterbury to exchange vows was a dream come true for Bex and Chris. The pair first met five years ago at a birthday dinner with mutual friends, and the rest reads as a story of dating, friendship, travel, a proposal and of course, their wedding. It was while living abroad in Hong Kong, that they began to organise their upcoming celebration in earnest. Bex took on the role of event planner, exhibiting none of the stress that threatens to topple many brides.
Brass candlesticks, peacock chairs and gold cutlery were sourced specially, a more authentic alternative to the usual hire options. Groomsmen helped construct birch and ivy canopies above each table, and a bridesmaid happily took care of all the bright bohemian blooms. Lastly, the dress. Inspired by a beautifully fragile Zuhair Murad creation, Bex enlisted the help of a talented local dress maker. The result was something ethereal, intricately embroidered, and the perfect fit for this bride-to-be.
