Kate & Sam have known for a long time they were perfect for each other. After a chance meeting in one of Christchurch’s legendary bars, a friendship was established, which grew into dating, a proposal and a wedding of immaculate details, set in the beautiful Pemberton Gardens.

The gardens at Mona vale provided the perfect setting for Will & Hannah’s special day and their twilight wedding ceremony. We were lucky enough to be there an hour before they said “I Do“, to capture their ‘first look’. A first look is the emotional, priceless moment when the groom first sees his beloved in her wedding dress. Being there allows us to capture the beauty, wonder and feeling of the moment as well as providing an opportunity for the bride and groom to be quietly still in their love together without two hundred eyes on them. Will & Hannah’s first look involved their Labrador pup, Lola, who had to be restrained from leaping excitedly all over Hannah’s graceful gown.

The first time Tim met Tash was at a fundraiser. Natasha, who is an award winning photographer, had been assigned to take photographs of Tim – a police constable, who was having his head shaved after being diagnosed with cancer 7 weeks prior. The event was a trigger to an undeniable attraction, a love story and wedding ceremony in the beautiful basilica.

Here’s what Tash & Tim had to say when they first saw this film :
” We love it!!! What an awesome job you both have done we are just thrilled to bits! Brought tears to our eyes.
Thankyou thankyou thankyou 😉 ”

Here is a wedding that is so full of thoughtful details that I could write screeds about the little things that Mel and Blair had thought of to include in their day! From watches of Grandparents, to tie pins of great-great-great grandparents (I think I got that right, there may be another great in there somewhere!), to the drivers and cars they used… so many things added to the depth of the day in such a beautiful way! This is a snapshot of the incredible day we shared with Mel and Blair on the 30th of November.

131219_Lovelight_Wedding_Cinema_And_Photography_Blog_01Starting off with the guys getting ready at their home, with Blair’s parents Bob and Denise hovering around helpfully and Groomsmen Tim and Scott making sure the atmosphere was very relaxed and fun!131219_Lovelight_Wedding_Cinema_And_Photography_Blog_02Then on to the bridal prep where Mel and her sister Emma were getting ready at their parents house… View full post »

Wow, We’ve never been so impressed with a first dance, and the couple that performed it were equally as spectacular. James & Sarah live in Auckland, but chose Christchurch for their wedding day and what a day it was! James was a bow-tie expert, and his expertise was called into make the most bow-tie changes we have ever seen. James & Sarah’s wedding was filled with laughter, romance and beautifully crafted speeches.

Here is what James & Sarah had to say about their wedding film:
Wow wow wow! You have done such an amazing job putting this together! It tells the story so perfectly of our special day. Very emotional to see it all again – so much fun, laughter and love. We couldn’t have asked for anything better! We have already watched it multiple times and we can’t wait to share it with our friends and family. Thanks again so much for all your amazing work that you have put into making this so perfect. You have been so great to work with ” – James & Sarah Firman
UPDATE :
The first dance James & Sarah had as a married couple was nothing short of epic. We weren’t expecting anything this amazing, so we thought we would take this opportunity to present to you their first dance as a married couple :
