Frequently Asked Questions

• Why should I get a wedding film?

It depends on how important it is to you to have your wedding documented – to be able to re-live and share your wedding day with family and friends, now and into the future. Wedding films are one of the best possible ways to capture your special day. Still photos – while a crucial element for almost every wedding – only convey a single moment. A wedding film on the other hand, records all the detail that is missed between photographs, as well as the emotion and joy of the day. The amount of happiness that your wedding film will bring you, both immediately and into the future, makes it a must-have for any couple.

• Will it feel like a camera crew following me around all day?

In short… No. One comment that is consistent from our couples is how much they didn’t even notice us on the day. We pride ourselves on our ability to capture moments through out your day without getting in the way of everyone or distracting your guests.

• How many of you will be shooting our wedding?

Depending on what package you book, there will be 2 – 4 of us. Craig & Clinton are the lead Lovelight shooters and will always have an assistant on the day. So if you book just a photography or cinema package there will be 2 of us, but if you book a combined package you will get 4 of us.

• We’re not really into posing, will that be a problem?

Not at all. We’re firm believers that people look their best when they’re their natural selves. Our style is to capture you in those moments when you’re lost in the moment, enjoying the company of your friends and family and with your loved one on the happiest day of your life because thats where the magic happens.

• Do you have other wedding vendors you can recommend?

• Do you travel?

Yes. We’re based in Christchurch, but travel extensively for weddings. Please let us know where you’re getting married and we’ll quote you for travel.

• Do you work alongside other photographers / videographers?

Yes. We’re always working with other talented wedding photographers and videographers. You can book us for either photo or cinema or combine the two for the best value.

• Can we choose the music for our wedding film?

For our ceremony / reception / first dance edits – as these are live action edits we will use whatever songs were playing, so we aim to get a good, clean audio record or source the original songs where possible.

As our highlights films go online so you can share them with your friends and family around the world, we will choose a song that we can legally purchase a streaming license for. We source our music from the following music libraries:
1. The Music Bed : www.themusicbed.com
2. Songfreedom : www.songfreedom.com

We spend hours listening to music to find the perfect song for a wedding film – generally we get a good idea of style of music you’re into based on what music you have chosen for the key moments of your wedding day. We love to use music that you don’t already have a connection with (e.g. a song that you always hear on the radio), that way the soundtrack to your film is unique to you and so much more special everytime you hear that song.
