Three wedding gowns, exceptional teppanyaki chefs and a beautiful love story – Richard & Sarah’s special day had it all.

From the marquee that was setup in their front garden, to the photos pegged up inside, to the charisma of the wedding guests, and even a brief cameo by Sarah’s grandfather’s first tractor – when Richard married the girl of his dreams, the love they shared was as endless as the style and setting of their beautiful wedding day.

Here’s what Sarah & Richard thought when they first saw their film:
Wow – thanks so much to you and your team for such a fabulous wedding film.
We love it 🙂 what a fantastic memento of our wonderful wedding day. We will treasure your skilful production and will proudly show it off to whoever will watch it. You really have managed to catch all those bits we wanted to remember, the details we spent so much time on that others might have missed, the atmosphere and the celebration. This was money so well spent and I would recommend you onto anyone who’s getting married! Thank you for being so easy to work with, understanding of our random requests and keen to get to know us and why our day was unique” Talk soon –

Here is a wedding that I’ve been really excited to share with you all! Lovelight travelled to my (Clinton) hometown of Nelson to photograph and film the wedding of Drew and Sarah and to say we had an amazing time is putting things lightly! I already knew Drew and Sarah a bit from a wedding I shot in Warkworth where Drew was the best man for Laird and Katie… a friendship which pre-qualifies them as great people (with excellent choice in friends aye Laird and Katie!) They are both very down to earth, relaxed and genuine people with an awesome sense of humor. This combo is a sure sign that the day is going to be AMAZING!

The Lovelight team split up with Mark shooting the stills of the grooms prep and then their visit to see Drew’s Grandmother who wasn’t going to be able to make it out to the ceremony… such a beautiful series of photos with these two interacting.

Tai Tapu turned on a magnificent day as Caroline & Miles declared their love in front of a garden pond at Otahuna Lodge – a Victorian mansion surrounded by picturesque gardens, and lush forestry.

Miles & Caroline met in the US but chose New Zealand to tie the knot. On the morning of Caroline & Miles’ wedding, love notes were swapped and so began the excitement for what the day had in store. After a beautiful ceremony beside a garden pond, Shayna King played her sweet melodies on the steps of the grand mansion, while the lodge’s airy ballroom, adorned with simplistic decorations in shades of cream, oatmeal and soft pink, made an elegant reception setting. Glowing candles graced the mantelpiece and windowsills, which we intertwined with jasmine to breathe fresh life into the classic interior.

Caroline wore an exquisite Oscar de la Renta designed wedding gown that featured a strapless lace corset, a ruched silk skirt and a short bustled train, accessorised with a close friend’s pearl and diamond drop earrings to fulfill the ‘something old and something borrowed’ tradition, while a bejewelled headpiece finished off her sleek up-do.

Simple flowers were chosen with lots of green: stunning lisianthus, double freesias, gypsophila and antique roses. These blooms made up loose bouquets and table centrepieces, which sat in low vases so they didn’t interrupt conversation.

Hello My Sweet created a three-tier wedding cake iced with pearly pink icing and covered in delicate handmade flowers, it featured white chocolate, lemon and vanilla bean and fruit layers.

Darran & Louise chose a remarkable autumn day to tie the knot in Wanaka, and after a few spots of rain at dawn, Rippon estate turned out a magnificent spectacle. Friends and family gathered from all around the world to join them in celebration, and we were there too. Here is our wedding film which played just before their first dance.

Here’s what Louise & Darran had to say…
“I’m sure you are always being told how fabulous your work is so this is just another e mail to add to that collection.

Thank you so much for being so kind and patient with us for the past few days and producing such an amazing result in the evening.  Everyone was blown away and thought the same day edit was the coolest thing ever.”
